The photograph shows the mastery of the influential photographer, who plays virtuously with light and shadow: He uses basic elements of photographic design, such as sharpness, tonality and plastic effect, to demonstrate different levels of reality and presence.
At the same time, however, his picture is not a formal abstraction, but rather impressively shows the »stilled« mood during the hottest hours of the day - and also conveys complex metaphors of photography.
