In the images of the »Puglia« series, which represents the photographer’s glance on the Italian South, Giacomelli was thrilled by picturing the ambience of a vital small town, crowded by local folks in their everyday pastime.
Giacomelli's early series, such as »Verrà la morte e avrà i tuoi occhi«, »Scanno« and aswell »Puglia«, were informed by the form of reportage due to their unity of place.
