Araki's photo novel »Blind Love« is divided in 17 chapters, including nearly 400 photographs of subjects typical for his work: nudes, bondage, portraits, cityscapes, and flowers. It is dedicated to the Japanese writer Junichiro Tanizaki, and French artist Sophie Calle.
The spectacular bondage photograph stems from the third chapter and is placed on a left hand page, vis-à-vis to the picture of a man, bending forward to take a swallow from a public drinking fountain.
