Rising sea levels, droughts and floods are changing the lives of many people in Mexico. Over the years, César Rodríguez has documented how the climate crisis shapes the everyday lives of entire communities — and the role played by political decisions and inadequate infrastructure.
On 4 November, visitors will have the opportunity to meet the photographer in person and learn more about the creation of his works and the background to his long-term project, directly in front of the photographs.
César Rodríguez (born 1983 in Tepic, Mexico) explores themes of migration, human rights and climate change in his photographic work. His images have been published in Time, National Geographic, The New York Times and Der Spiegel, among others. His first photobook, Montaña Roja (2022), was recommended by the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York and nominated for the Paris Photo–Aperture PhotoBook Awards. His second book, Hoja Dorada, was shortlisted for photography book awards in Arles and at Paris Photo–Aperture in 2024. Rodríguez lives in Xalisco, Mexico.
