For 25 years, Vienna’s photography museum WestLicht has been a central hub of international photography: as an exhibition venue, camera museum, forum for discourse, and meeting place for photographers, collectors, and photography enthusiasts from around the world.
To mark this anniversary, WestLicht is celebrating not only its own history, but also 200 years of photography.
Our program highlights:
Thursday, May 28: Camera- and Photo Auction
Saturday, May 30: Opening of the exhibition PLATON. PEOPLE POWER
Sunday, May 31: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM Open House Day at WestLicht (free entry) & at 7:30 PM Artist Talk with Platon (Register here!)
The HaiBar will also be open in the evenings on Saturday and Sunday.
As part of its anniversary program, WestLicht will additionally present the exhibitions WORLD PRESS PHOTO 2026 in the fall, and FALSE TRUTHS, an exhibition devoted to photographic manipulation — from the beginnings of the medium to artificial intelligence.
