Julian Schnabel (*1951)
Untitled (Palazzo Chupi, Triplex), New York City, 2008
The American painter, sculptor and filmmaker Julian Schnabel has been taking photographs for over a decade with a rare twenty-by-twenty-four-inch Polaroid Land camera manufactured in the 1970s. Only six intact examples of these cameras are known to exist today. The large format Polaroid film allows for a wide range of tones and shades that are unmatched in their nuance.
