In the series »Cakes and Balls« Parr humorously explores the clichés and traditions of the Austrian capital. The work was commissioned on the occasion of Parr's retrospective at Kunst Haus Wien in 2016 and exhibited there for the first time.
The Gänsehäufel is frequented by many long-standing regulars - the tenants of the coveted cabanas or seasonal cabins for storing their own garden furniture - who visit the outdoor pool on the Old Danube whatever the weather.
