Pongracz took this photograph for her exhibition at Vienna Secession and the accompanying publication. The project is dedicated to two members of the artists' association, Franz Ringel and Martha Jungwirth. An extensive »photo story« shows their life and work as artists by circuiting their social and urban environment.
The photograph shows Martha Jungwirth and her husband Alfred Schmeller, then director of the Viennese Museum of Modern Art in the »20er-Haus«, shortly before leaving for a ball in Burgenland, where they lived in a house. Pongracz and her husband, the writer Reinhard Priessnitz, were also taking part.
