Jeanne Lanvin began her career as a milliner in the 1880s, before expanding her business into couture and launching Lanvin Sport in 1923. The 1920 witnessed a greater demand for women’s leisure ensembles as women’s sports became more socially acceptable. Like much swimwear of the period, this polka-dot suit was made of wool.
