In his series Paul Kranzler developes a portrait of the young Thomas, nicknamed Tom. Over almost three years, the photographer accompanied Tom, who got his friend in the course of the time. Tom and his family are captured in their daily routines in Upperaustria. The result is a portrait expanded into a panorama of their everyday lives that can be called a »visual sociology«, reveiling ways of living, matters of taste, as well as economic conditions of a class and the dominant social relationships.
