Roberta Lima (*1974)
Rewriting Love & Pain - Amor & Dor, Vienna, 2004
The Brazilian-born artist moved to Europe in 2002 after completing her training as an architect. In Vienna she studied at the Academy and University of Fine Arts, also completed a doctorate in philosophy in 2013. The photograph was taken on the occasion of a performance in which she had the words »amor« and »dor« (love and pain) cut into her forearms with a scalpel and made blood prints of them. Skin was then removed, placed on a sheet of paper and processed into a skin collage.
