Franziska Cibulka (*1943) , Rudolf Schwarzkogler (1940 – 1969)
4th action, no. 16, Vienna, Kaiserstraße, 18 December 1965
From the edition »Aktionen Wien 1965/66«
The fourth action by Rudolf Schwarzkogler took place in the apartment of the young couple Heinz and Franziska Cibulka, the latter being responsible for photography. Heinz Cibulka had his head bandaged. Over it, on it and next to it props were attached step by step, resulting in a still life-like scenario. In some sequences Schwarzkogler asked Franziska to hold her arm into the picture, thus relativising the assemblage-like effect: A game unfolds with different levels of reality that can only be evoked in a photographic pictorial space.
The sheet shows the 37th motif of the most comprehensive edition of Rudolf Schwarzkogler's work, published by Galerie Krinzinger in 1980.
