Nowak is known for her large-format photographic works, tableaux vivants, for which she artistically stages her models in the landscape or in the studio. In her »Artist in the City« series, she photographed artists working in Vienna, such as Peter Kogler, Marcus Schinwald and Eva Schlegel. These were taken at specifically selected locations, so that the resulting scenarios are reminiscent of the art of the sitters in terms of color palette, spatial design or lighting mood. The Gelitin group of artists (Wolfgang Gantner, Ali Janka, Florian Reiter and Tobias Urban), for whose mostly colorful work performative elements are essential, were particularly pleased with this opportunity to stage themselves.
