David Schalko, »Der siebenbeinige Hund täuscht gekränkt vor, er würde dorthin zurückgehen, wo er herkommt.«

David Schalko, known as the director and author of series such as ‘Kafka’, ‘Old Money’ and ‘Braunschlag’, has published his first illustrated book, ‘Ghosts’. It is the collection of an obsession: Schalko's ghosts, which he discovers everywhere, are stains and imprints on streets, in backyards, but above all on house walls and in stairwells. His close-ups transform these details into objects, faces or scenes in their own right. The photos are accompanied by captions that are written in Schalko's unmistakable blend of irony and depth. In this way, his creatures tell us stories and make us smile. Schalko's creativity, together with the film-maker's trained eye and the author's talent, bring these creatures to life. The result is a book and an exhibition of one hundred photographs.

All photographs are inkjet prints, mounted in the original passe-partout with printed title, available in an edition of 5 + 2 AP. All works are signed and numbered on the reverse by the photographer and can be purchased framed on request.
